Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo
Bodegas Hidalgo has been located in the historic centre of the city since its origins. The winery was built in the mid-19th century in the architectural style of wineries known as “bodega cathedral” given its similarity to such religious constructions.
In the second half of the 19th century the Hidalgo family commenced its winemaking activity starting with solera sherries and vineyards of their own property.
By the beginning of the 20th century D. Emilio Hidalgo e Hidalgo had a consolidated the business with offices in London and a presence in numerous other countries. As from 1970, by now constituted as a limited company, the winery expanded its export business to include the UK, Netherlands, Germany and Austria as well as the USA, Japan, Denmark, Italy, France and Belgium.
